Are there rules to follow?

Evidently there is a set of rules somewhere that we are to follow. I've had first hand experience with this. Are the gospels of Thomas a good reference? You seem to have inside knowledge of what is acceptable and what is not.

Would you please point me (us) in the right direction? The right reading material? Thanks

Belle

You can find a gem in nearly every book, when you have a very well tuned FILTER for the crap.

I use the method that I described in the chapter "Filtering information". It took me decades to find out that it is SO simple. Try to develop your own version of such a 'filter'.

What is "acceptable" is determined by YOUR intellect and YOUR Final Goal. No one in the Universe can tell you how to live YOUR life.

Try to establish your Final Goal (the hard bit) and do ONLY things that make the perfect sense to YOU in the context of YOU achieving your OWN goal.

Don't forget to be ready to modify your choices when you grow to understand more.

You know, Dr. Chalko, you are so right about finding that gem in every book. That's what happened to me when I went opn my spiritual quest. I read so many differant things. In every book that I read, I took something with me. Now that is alot of work to get, sometimes, just one good thought.

I feel that I am almost through reading, as I ruined my eyes on that quest. At least not the amount of reading that I did then.

I am at the point where I want to experience everything for myself rather than reading other's thoughts. But then interpreting the events is like being blind. Where is the primer, the rosetta stone for all of this?

If someone tells you a "recipe" then you need to 'believe' it.

The best is to compose the puzzle YOURSELF, until everything around you and WITHIN you makes perfect sense. Choose 'gems' from all the information that is available and use them to establish your OWN point of view.

Tom

I did it my way. What you're saying is that there is no one correct way of finding truth. Is that right?

From my reading, I have taken the things that intrigued me, tried them and they did bring results.I guess that I did it right. I did need help though understanding some things, and that is where a person like you comes in. Without a little bit of help, it's like being blind and that's very scary. What about all of the people out there who are locked into the dungeons of their minds? Where is their help?I know, if they start looking, they'll find it.But they have to seek, right?

Belle

Correct. Only those who seek - will find. This also applies to 'help'. Have a good look around - and you will find everything that you need to know.

The problem with most people is that they have no clue what they want to achieve and they cannot even ask a QUESTION expressing what 'help' they want and WHY.

Once you start formulating QUESTIONS - you will start getting answers... Does it make sense?
