Learning from weaknesses?

After reading all the forum I realized that cosmetic surgery is against nature. My question is: what about people with weak eyes?Isn't wearing glasses against nature too?Arent they supposed to learn something from their eye weakness?

M

My right eye is much weaker than the left. Glasses do not help. When I begun practising the concentration exercise (cross) I realized that this particular weakness has been HELPING me all my life to balance activities of both hemispheres of the brain. I have always had a preference to use logic (left hemisphere activity) rather than intuition, feelings and creativity.

The weaker right eye provides weaker stimuli to the LEFT hemisphere, so that the RIGHT hemisphere receives more stimulation.

After a lifetime such "balancing" induced and assisted by one eye weakness (and some exercises of course) I can now compose music and play it in the same time...

When I was 14 I was told that I would become blind as a teenager. It is because of my very weak eyesight I learned music, lasers, holography, living with color and many other things. If I was "perfect" I would probably bimbo around all my life without learning much.

The easiest thing is to do nothing at all, remember? Our weaknesses prompt us to THINK, ACT and LEARN.

Weak eyesight is quite special. It prompts us to look WITHIN rather than outside.

Hello Tom, You said that the left hemisphere of the brain is responsible for logical thinking and the right for feelings and creativity. Now although this is the current understanding of current neuropsychology research it seems opposed to your opinion which claims that intellect, which logic and feelings are part of, is not located in any physical organ, not even the brain. Could you please clarify this apparent contradiction, it is really confusing. Thank you

Dann

I have never said that any hemisphere is responsible for anything.

My view is that the physical body with all its organs and facilities is an instrument that constitutes an "interface" between Intellect and what we call "physical world". It is an instrument that, depending on various stimuli is capable to create various sensations that are received by our Intellect for processing. Certain physical sensations seem to be associated with certain conscious activities.

It is an observable fact, that certain stimuli help to provoke particular activity of the Intellect. I see no contradiction in noticing that watching something with the left eye gives slightly different sensations and induces different thoughts/feelings than watching the same thing with the right eye.

Perhaps the Designer of this interface had something particular in mind...

Tom, is it OK to do the cross exercise wearing glasses?

Liz

Sure. Especially if one of your eyes is weaker than the other. In this case glasses will help you to achieve the best balance.
