Changing the SYSTEM

I have some comments about the 'system' that we live in.

It is obvious to me that society is as if it's 'locked' in a materialistic, and 'belief rich' existence. When we are born, our parents have been living in the system for a long time. When they were raised, they were gradually 'instructed' by their parents how to live in THIS MATERIALISTIC SYSTEM. Because everyone else was also raised into the same type of system, it was convenient for them to remain accepting of the system. The fact that we use money is SO accepted that it is not even RECOGNISED as a formal tool of existence - simply because everyone does it and it seems CONVENIENT - the real problem is still invisible. Now, when we are born, our parents have 'already been locked up in the system for a long time' - now it's their turn to instruct us gradually on how to exist in the system which 'seemed' to always be there. So, we are raised along similar lines to those of our parents upbringing and the 'cycle' seems to never end.

But, now that we have been presented with books such as The Freedom or Thiaoouba Prophecy, it becomes clear to me that change can only be initiated by people who have actually examined and understood the 'lessons' that such books were intended to provide.

It is not good enough, I 'know', to sit back and accept the system as it is, simply because we can conveniently think that 'we were born to live out a life in such an existence for a reason'. We DON'T know what the future holds and we have to realize that if we want to change the system, then we have to ACT ON IT.

If we say that we want to 'change the system', we need to first define as many aspects of our planned system as we can. But, I also think that such 'planning' needs to be done by groups of people who are all committed and understand WHY they want to be committed. Looking at the world situation at the moment, it is obvious of how 'hopeless' the situation SEEMS - but it will remain this way, unless enough 'awakened' people find enough motivation to COMMIT themselves to changing it.

If, after being presented with the facts, we remain acceptant of our existence and lifestyle - in a system that is indeed 'dagrading to man' - we will live out this life, in 'this system', maybe thinking that there are reasons for our 'living out such a life'.

So, the 'cycle' will continue and little progress is likely to be made - people will continue to be born and they will continue to 'go along with the flow' of materialistic existence.

Some may say that there are enough problems in the world today to focus on - like violence, drugs, pollution. But all of these problems can, and HAVE been proven to be stemming from the society's operation in a 'monetary frame'. So, I believe that we must focus on raising awareness of the fact that we live in a monetary society and why this is BAD - raising awareness that other 'choices' exists and CAN be invented simply by thinking. The FREEDOM book, I believe, illustrates what I mean and MUCH more - exposing and encouraging people to recognise their unlimited potential.

But, raising awareness is not enough - we have to start defining and establishing the 'big picture of HOW we want to exist'. Once this is under way, we also have to plan extensively HOW we would want to achieve trasition into the system that we want - and I believe that the best way can only be a way that conforms to love and repect of others' freedom of choice.

rafal

To date, I have found that I am still imposing limitations on myself - I am still 'locked' in the system - and it may take me years of self-discovering the true essence of the UNIVERSE to 'unlock' myself to the extent that can allow me to ACT ON ( and not just think about ) my goal of 'contributing with actions' to achieving a better, more spiritual system. I know that all the answers are 'within' but I also know that I need to learn to interpret and ACT ON those lessons. [rafal]

With all my heart I want to find a group of folks that are working on changing the system, just as rafal has described. Is anyone aware of anything currently being done - any groups that are working towards transition?

Elaine

I set this Forum to enable like-minded people to get together and exchange ideas what to do, how to do it and WHY.

The context is The Purpose of The Universe and our conscious existence (described in The Freedom of Choice and discussed on this Forum).

Tom

There's a lot of garbage out there (I think that's been said before). In my opinion, first we like minded people have to sort ourselves out.

Meditation/concentration and human interaction (like this great forum) really help here. Second, we have to assist, where possible, others to do the same. Only then can (step 3) certain big problems be changed for the better (politics, education, media, etc).

Again, we have a good example to help us (Tom, you seem to have been doing steps 1 and 2 for awhile). There are a lot of people out there doing step 3, and doing a good job. But I think because steps 1 and 2 aren't given enough of their attention, their progress (in reforming the system/s) is limited.

I particularly liked Michel's suggestion in the postscript of his book, and have long considered that one of the best ways to achieve the step 2 is to be a good example! Regardless of what changes will be made, I think this forum is giving clear evidence that such good people are there and want to do something about the problems we face.

By the way, Elaine, exactly what do you mean by 'transition'?

Hi everyone. Rafal I just read your 'changing the system' pt 1. I didn't read it before posting on pt 2. I think you've noted some very interesting points. In Thiaoouba Prophecy, it is noted that to change the monetary system would be very difficult (not impossible!) because it is such a foundation on our planet. What do you think of Michel's suggestion of an 'intra-national' community? I think there are some profound aspects of such an idea which offer a superior way in which to contribute, namely:

1.Not in-your-face. How many people on this planet take a real interest in protests, demonstrations, speeches, etc. Not that such protests don't have their place, but no-one likes doing it this way.

2.It could be extremely beneficial to a large number of participants.

3.And mainly, look at what inspires you most in your spiritual endeavours. For me, it's seeing OTHER PEOPLE who have SOUGHT and FOUND, at least to an extent. Can you imagine the effect on people if they saw others living a productive, happy life with virtually NONE of the problems experienced by nearly everyone in the "modern society"?

What are your thoughts?

damien

Let's discuss possibilities and principles of such "ideal" community. How to ensure that everyone is happy? How to "govern" it to avoid "politics" and "fight for power"? How to make it "stable" for several generations?

Tom

Has anybody read Ayn Rand's book Atlas Shrugged? She describes an ideal society and how it is organised in this, without doing away with the monetary system but as a next step, this would be a possibility too.

Apart from that, the book gives a facinating account of the pettiness of our current society and how a group of intelligent people refuses to serve that system any longer and how they start up their own society. [Margot]

How to change the 'system'- my own opinion.

We are living in a scientific world governed by materialism not by spirituality. Almost all the people I encountered and most of my friends don't believe in the existence soul. Even though they do believe in existence of soul, they don't do much investigation on such matter because of their ignorance or the way the science operating in the society. Science should mean "understanding of Nature". But no money,no research. The governments of the world spend little or no money on investigating the spirituality through the scientific way. Only through science, it is possible to 'convince' the majority about the spiritual side of us.

An INTERNATIONAL Foundation campaigning for funding for scientific investigation of spirituality and soul from the governments and international orgainzations should be established. Without money very few scientists want to investigate such matter as scientists need to live and may have families to support.

bomoh

I think the best way is to show people that they CAN THINK for themselves and that they should study their own SELVES.

"Science" of today is making so many ridiculous explanations (black holes, dark matter, chaotic Universe etc...) that people gradually stop believing it anyway.

Paid research is very dangerous. For example, those with money fund "scientific" research to prove that fluoride, chlorine or nuclear radiation (smoke detectors) is good for you.

The problem is that "answers" that scientists can get, are determined and limited by "questions" that their intellect can formulate. For example, if you think that electron is a particle - you can invent experiments that will prove it. If you think that electron is a wave - you can prove it too.

Choices and conclusions are always limited by the intellect. For that reason I think that it is much better to address PEOPLE rather than the establishment and focus on development of their individual intellect and ability to THINK.

Tom

Hi Tom and Enea, Thanks for your idea, free energy is a good start, free food definately I think this will be possible especially if people spend less of their time concentrating on food and more on spiritual development, a vegan diet is cheap, causes little suffering and is very efficient. I think this would have to be a requirement. Perhaps wind farms would help with the energy side. I live in the UK so no problems with a wind supply there then!

perhaps Antonius has some ideas from reading his critique of materialism maybe this would be a project he would be interested in? [Robin]

A very good example of politicians the curse on Earth is so obvious on the self-proclaimed most democractic country in the world. Just look at USA presidency election. They are more concerned of POWER than serving people. Legal battle?! If they are sincerely serving the people of USA, they wouldn't even think of having a legal battle. Wake up Americans!! [bom]

Hi Bomoh, You said that there should be funding for scientific investigation in spirituality.

This has already been done, but guess who provided the funding? Military. Need i say more?

M.E.

Is it possible to reverse the destruction alreadly done to the Earth, not just stop it? A lot has been said about protecting our 'limited resources'. In an ideal world there shouldn't be any limits.

Poe

In the domain of Consciousness and Intellect our potential is truly unlimited. Everything material, however, including our physical bodies is TEMPORARY.

Developing our Intellect and helping other people THINK for themselves is one of the best attitudes we can adopt.

In this context, there is never too late to learn, even if the majority of people on Earth choose to follow the flock to destruction. Some people need to see the destruction and suffer its consequences to believe it.

Tom

I think that MONEY is the 'middle man'. It is unnessary altogether. It's like the cross, a mere symbol for something we want or need. The farther you take your existence away from The Source the less important it becomes. Money is a step in the wrong direction. And, our defining and labeling everything encountered is a tool for understanding, but when held up on its own is worthless. As soon as we name something, it turns into something else. [Poe]

I don't think we (without love) can change the establishment directly unless demonstrations or things of that nature take place to bring awareness to the larger majority of the world. People need to be informed but that takes time, and 'time is on our side' i believe 'yes it is'.

It takes time for some people to take notice, to accept new concepts, especially if it comes in a form that isn't compassionate. All we can do, i believe, you reading this and myself is to provide information and disseminate it in such a way that it takes on a loving and appealing nature. A loving nature one of pure intent and compassion

That said i believe the world WILL change for the better. I believe if we focus on living our life in a loving and constructive way then our society will gradually change. And what is wrong with gradually? can we do anything about this, if you think so i'd love to hear from you on this page in the future.

Dean

What if people choose NOT to be informed? What if they choose not to pay attention?

Demonstrations, revolutions, religions that allegedly teach "love" and morality did nothing in the last 2000 years. People are more brainwashed and arrogant than ever before.

Messages of great individuals, such as Jesus have been distorted and perverted beyond recognition. How many people today realize that Jesus main mission was to prove to us the immortality of consciousness?

Do you think that ANYONE can inspire people who choose to celebrate plastic or dying trees, crosses, shrouds and other idolatry? The one who tried was crucified 2000 years ago.

The only chance is to make people THINK for themselves, rather than follow the flock. Do you have any idea how to do it? My idea was to write The Freedom Of Choice. Does it work? How can we make work better?

Tom

How can we possibly 'love thy neighbour' and function in the establishment (with its destruction in mind, so that we may once again be liberated and free individuals working toward a better future) if we can't even look at our loved ones and tell them how we feel, communicate to them in complete truth and love, tell them what our needs are, support them in their growth and allow them to love more. can we do these things?

When people see the way in which a loving individual treats themselves i'm sure all around would endevour to attain this level of self love. When people (families) see the way in which other families interact, I am sure all families who are dedicated and focused on bringing Love and Light into the world would choose to seek that same level of Love, and then why stop at that level? let us be more loving.

This love then extends itself into the community through the individuals (if we choose to accept the truth of who we are and live that, not giving it away for ANYTHING. Can we claim our light and the responsibility that goes with this). sure voice our opinions this is how we are heard, how we get our needs met.

If you want something then ask for it. You want vegetarian meals served at a resturant then ask for that, if you want flavourless youghurt and your store has none then ask for it. If you want the air to be cleaner and you feel strongly enough that the introduction of hydrogen fueled cars on our motorways would contribute to that then talk to the car manufacturer.

Companies aren't going to make something that has no position in the market place. It's uneconomical.

You bought it, then you sold it. Ask for what you want. today, make your voice heard. Make the best choices you know how at all times and i think together we can change the world.

Loving the world starts at home with you.Love and Light to you all Dean

Dean

The "advice" or "theory" of loving one another is promoted for thousands of years already. In my view it has little effect, because people refuse to use the logic and find out WHY this is the best choice that anyone can make. For people who do not understand the REASON - it is just a theory, one of many. As a result some adopt another approach such as "you can do anything to anyone if you can get away with it". Does is sound familiar?

I like your practical conclusions of "defining what you need and then AIM and ASK for it"

Can you accomplish anything without aiming for it? So let's define what we aim for and then invent an intelligent action plan.

Tom

The scary thing about advice (including this) is that it's all theory until you get there.

madd_laughter

Are you trying to suggest that we shouldn't aim for anything? Cows don't try to cross an electric fence because they fear the tickle. Are you suggesting that we should confine ourselves inside a "fence of FEAR"?

When I started to use my Intellect I found that the "journey" is quite fascinating and enjoyable. I have also found that the ony way to discover what is the limit is to try to go beyond... Fear is simply a result of the lack of understanding.

Tom

Fear is simply a result of the lack of understanding??? This system has so many things they don't 'understand'.Do you have a recipe for understanding our fears??

Luis - Thanks for TFoC

Just explore them using your intellect.

Tom
