One of my associates read you book, and came up with this to say and I don't know how to respond:
"I have to decline some basic arguments are wrong in there: 'difference between a dead and a living body- Every organ is the same, every atom is the same'
Maybe the atoms are the same but, there are no electric impulses within the brain anymore, so its just wrong to derive the fact 'consciuosness is independent form body'"

Your associate hasn't yet begun to become aware what is the actual essence of the process that we call LIFE.
If "electric impulses in the brain" are indeed all there is to life, someone would copy these impulses, make gadgets producing them and we all would live forever. Reviving dead would be a trivial procedure.
In case anyone else missed this point, I would like to proclaim that the essence of the process that we call "life" is generation, processing and exchange of INFORMATION. Such exchange occurs between various organs in the body. The entire process is not random, but quite the contrary - it is very coherent. Any disruption to this process causes dysfunction, disease or death.
Brain is just an interface between our (electro-photonic) consciousness and the physical body. Brain helps perceiving signals from the material world and directs many functions of the physical body. You will not find imagination, intelligence and sense of humour anywhere in the brain, simply because they are not there. Aren't they the essence of consciousness?
When you learn to separate your consciousness from your physical body, you will discover that you will have exactly the same imagination, intelligence and a sense of humour, even though you are far away from your physical body. Keep thinking ...
