Hopeless situation?

If we have true freedom of choice from GOD, why do any of us have to deal with pain, lack of finance, depression etc? These are problems I experience all the time, regardless of my will to be free from their control. I feel like my desires rarely manifest themselves in to reality.

How does one remain postive and appreciative of life when negativity is constantly being reinforced? If this is my lesson to be learned, I feel life is an experiment gone wrong. I realize that this is a pessimistic attitude, but so far success and joy have eluded me. Why fight so hard to climb out of a hole, only to be buried again? I cannot singlehandedly change a world that does not offer opportunity. Please explain to me how this is not a hopeless situation?

Freedom of Thought is essential for anyone to learn anything, but has absolutely nothing to do with removing the possibility for making mistakes.

No one can understand ANYTHING for someone else. Everyone (yourself included) has to develop the Understanding entirely on his/her own. Facing consequences of mistakes (both your mistakes and mistakes of others) is the BEST way to learn.

Your "problems" are a direct result of your lack of Understanding of the Purpose of the Universe. Your desires do not manifest themselves, because they contravene your own Purpose of Existence in the Universe. They are NOT GOOD FOR YOUR EVOLUTION.

You need to expand your CONTEXT. Re-define what you call "success" in the WIDE context of the entire Universe.

"Problems" and "suffering" are both reminders from Nature that we haven't yet found the Path of Conscious Evolution OR we do not make any progress on it.

NEVER DOUBT that a Single Individual Intellect Can change the World. In fact - this is the ONLY thing that EVER DID...

Thank you for taking the time to read my question and providing a thoughtful response. I understand what you are saying, certain obstacles in life may seem like a tragedy at first, but ultimately prevent you from going down a path you weren't meant to travel. One bad decision could actually lead to an important, life changing experience. My perception of a certain situation, can directly affect it's impact on me. From anything that takes place, wether it be good or bad, there's knowledge to be gained. When you look at it that way, life starts to make sense.

Steve

I agree.
