Hi Tom, It seems we have so much we can do with the aid of our higher self. Do you think it is better to visualise and request certain things from our HS, or do you think it is better to keep our minds blank, ask questions directed to our growth and wait for our HS to send us information that we need to know. The first one seems to be imposing our will on our HS based on our needs while the other appears to be more receptive to our HS and is based on receiving information for our deeper spiritual growth as set out by the higher self

You can ask whatever you wish in any way you choose. What you receive, however, depends on what Higher Self considers the best for your conscious evolution.
It seems that keeping your mind truly blank after formulating and expressing a request is a better choice. At this state you are peceptive to unexpected answers (and ideas to explore) that frequently follow requests addressed to HS.
In general, the better is your question/request the more informative and direct will be the answer.
There seems to be one exception though. You won't be helped to solve a problem that you have chosen yourself to be your "test" or "homework" during this lifetime.
Imagine sitting a written examination. If you ask the supervisor to help you fix your wobbling table or a broken pen - you will be given an urgent assistance. However, when you ask what is the solution to the exam question - the supervisor will walk away...
Hence, asking HS and do NOT receiving should give you a good hint of what is your homework during this lifetime.

Hi Tom, I like the way you analogise a lifetime to an examination in school. It is quite logical and makes sense. However consider the following. You are about to have a school exam and you know you haven't studied very much. As you get your exam paper and skim through the questions you see immediately that you are able to answer only about 30% of them. You therefore answer what you can and are finished in about an hour. The time available is say 3 hours. As you finish you give in the paper and walk out because you know that you are just not able to answer the rest so there's no point in staying any longer. Now my question is what does your higher self do when you get into this kind of situation during your 'life in a physical body' exam? If you just don't have enough knowledge to continue the exam. Logicaly there's no point of sitting in the room and staring at your paper is there? So what happens in this kind of situation?

To abort your "exam" you need to stop the lifetime. This is equivalent to committing a suicide as a result of seeing nothing to do whatsoever in life.
In such a case you would need to REPEAT your exam - if you want to exist. There are no shortcuts in the individual conscious evolution. There cannot be.
Tom
Wasn't it yourself (or your higher self) who has choosen the exams questions? Hence, you'll find only 'solveable' questions on the test...By the way, finishing 30% of the test in one hour means you have 2 hours left for 70 %. Compared to ones lifetime (eg. 72 years) you still have 50 years to answer the rest. And this isn't a math test where you'll find questions like 2+2, with only one possible solution. One question might be: 'what do you think does it feel like facing this or that problem and do you have any solutions to enhance your situation ?'
