Hi Tom. Yeah, your book is a great one in its own right, and also a terrific complement to Thiaoouba Prophecy.
About the Final Goal, you referred to this as a very difficult thing to set. What I'm thinking now is, how clearly defined should it be?
For example, is aiming for maximum spiritual development, or maximum understanding of the TRUTH, or developing my love to its fullest potential sufficient?
I have meditated for about four months now, and after reading some of the others' comments I can fully sympathise with the difficulties in meditating . In my experience, the best progress I have made in meditation and life has followed drawn out periods of self-analysis, thinking about what I've done well, what I could've done better, and thinking about who I want to be. We can go as fast and as far as we allow ourselves to go, but learning still takes time!
I think also, that whenever the going gets tough, how Unhappy would I be by going back to the sort of life lived by most on this planet, knowing what I know now?

1. Start defining your 'initial' Goal from whatever makes most sense to you TODAY. Define it in a way that you would feel completely and comprehensively SATISFIED when you achieve it.
2. Then imagine achieving your goal. FOCUS on imagining that you REALLY achieved every aspect of it.
3. Then ask yourself a question : WHAT NEXT? What would I do NEXT? WHY? And then WHAT?
Hopefully, you should see your 'initial' goal in the new, wider perspective. You may see a need to modify it and perhaps re-define it altogether.
When you repeat the above procedure every day for some time - the Magnitude and the Scope of your Goal will gradually grow. You will see your life in a wider and wider perspactive.
Eventually you will see yourself in the scale of the entire Universe and reach the limit of your imagination. The next day after it will happen - go to step 1.
The Final Goal is a "moving target" - we need to keep improving it as we increase our understanding of the Reality of the Conscious Existence.
Tom
Understanding the universe and our\my place in it, seems to be the only logical goal.Step 1, the desire. Step 2, the understanding.
The problem is how to get from step 1 to step 2.The sincere desire, meditation and concentration. This includes yoga, chanting etc. anything that doesn't harm you and helps you to achieve your goal. It seems to me that a close inspection of everything that happens to you every day would be a good idea. Making it clear to our overselves that this is our most sincere desire. Doing this is manditory. If you don't ask, you DON'T receive.
Now, what other down-to-earth, tangible tools are there that will assist us in our endeavers?Thank you.

The best tool is your Intellect itself. Keep THINKING.
