What would you do if the U.S wanted to invade your country? Do you fight? Do you protect yourself? Do you sit and let them take pieces out of you? Do you let them come in and install the 'regime' that they choose? Do you leave the country (knowing they may invade where you move to at a later date)? Do you allow them to kill you or your family knowing that you are consciousness and will continue after death?
I personally know i wouldn't want to kill another human but where do we draw the line? Is there a line?
Changing the leaders in this country for example to a Government chosen by the American Government doesn't appeal to me. What if i figured that my consciousness would be perverted more by the new 'installed government' that is taking control by force. Would i allow them entry or would i fight??

Why don't you study what Ghandi did to overcome the British Empire without a single gunshot? He inspired people to THINK, rather than fight. This is more powerful than any army, because it makes any army or fight irrelevant.
Why can't we inform people what the "US freedom" really means? A record trade deficit, record debt (UD$63 trillion or 60% of GDP), widespread crime, corruption and drug abuse - all beyond control, justice system based on injustice, business based on exploitation, misinformation and deceit, food that has to be irradiated to be proclaimed "safe"...
Would you want such a "freedom" for your children? Do you know anyone who would? Why can't we do something about it?

Tom,Isn't it interesting that a society which claims to be founded upon "freedom and truth" is driven permanently by fear.
The reason that I think there seems to be little we can do about it, is that fear of losing jobs, terrorist threats, fear of losing medical insurance, fear of the govt, fear of the FDA, fear of malpratice suits etc when combined with the stupidity of thinking that speaking out about these things is un-American and unpatriotic makes it difficult to communicate with these people on mass. Considering they rely on certain channels such as CNN to receive their information makes it even more difficult.

I wonder how much worse the system has to become before people begin to notice that they are being deceived and lead nowhere.

I think that the single good thing that Gorge Buch has done for the world is to mainstream the dissent, by his administration's overt actions he has politicized the youth of many countries who would normally think of video games and mobile phones. On the streets of Australia I see people in their thousands who normally wouldn't have anything in common putting themselves before their Iraqi brothers and sisters, seeing through the lies, and trying to make a difference. We have youths on the street giving credible and correct answers to the insipid questions that they are posed by reporters. In them I see some hope for the future. But only if we spark in them a desire to learn more about the greater universe. Don't forget what Thao says in her special message to young people! [Lachie]
It is always good to find a positive out of a negative, however in Perth, Western Australia a couple of protests turned violent. I saw school kids being arrested and passers being pelted with eggs/tomatos by protesters.
How can these types of protests get the message across? All I saw were a bunch thugs acting violently.

Please study the topic "why protests do not work". This subject has been already discussed at this Forum.

The fact that the American society is driven by insatiable hunger for money and power is sad. But the US at least has one thing right. They do not force people to choose a specific religion, vote for a specific dictator, or even vote or believe anything at all. 'Modern' society may teach that money is the ultimate measure of existance, but it does not force anyone to believe this. Anyone who thinks for themselves can figure out the error in this line of thought. Just because something is taught, does not mean it has to be learned, unless of course there is a gun in your face. If the US has no better plan than force in removing that gun, then isn't it better than doing nothing at all?
Trent
The problem is that US attitude FORCES dependance on money, which of course they print. They do not give people any choice, which is an act against the Purpose of the Universe. Please study the "Measuring progress" chapter to learn where it leads to.
Most problems on Earth, regardless whether "economic" or environmental, are due to MONEY (or precisely speaking those who accumulate/issue money to control/exploit people and those who "maximize profit").
Have you ever thought from WHOM all "aid" to Iraqi civilians will be PURCHASED? Who will make the profit from war? Who made profit from World War 2 ?
Iraqi people will just see some genetically modified grains, chemicals called "medicine" and the irradiated junk food, all supplied at an astronomical cost... Who will profit from supplying all the above? WHO?
Tom
I agree tom, when leaders choose to make obtaining money a priority, they condition the people to support this priority. As a result of this conditioning, (which takes place even before birth, and often during conception!) the publics will is disrupted, deprived and then diseased. Is it a coincidence that physical disease is also rampant?
