What is `progress`?

I just read your book and since I grabbed the free version, I thought it would be best to share my comments in exchange for that opportunity. Although I agree with many of the basic concepts in the book, I cannot agree with your conception of the universe or the way in which your ideas are presented.

First of all, your theories about the structure of the universe are very primitive and do not explain many of the properties of OBE and meditation to achieve higher states. For example, if we are all so individualized, why is it that thousands of meditators who have reached higher states perceive a greater sense of oneness and loss of self?

Aaron

Are you SURE that losing the Self is a progress? WHAT progress? If the final goal is to surrender individuality - what is the POINT of the individual existence? Look at your hand. WHY are your fingerprints UNIQUE? The theory of "oneness" doesn't explain the REALITY in the Universe.

Are you SURE how to determine and define a "higher state"?

Secondly, it seems that one of your main points has to do with allowing people to have the most freedom of choice. In this case, it is NOT always the purpose of humans to develop spiritually. It is our purpose to live and work through the issues that are at the core of our being. That is the only way we are true to ourselves. In your case, those issues may be understanding the universe. But this is certainly not the goal of every person no matter how hard you try to convince them of it.

Aaron

You need to read The Freedom of Choice book more carefully, because you seem to miss the point. I express my own point of view and openly encourage reader to develop his/her own. Everyone has the Freedom of Choice to choose what to do. Some people choose to evolve spiritually, others choose to compete and kill. The system is SO clever, that everyone learns, no matter what they choose.

Tom

Lastly, if you state that you should limit yourself from limiting others' freedom of choice, how can you make statements that religions are false and that certain types of behaviors are wrong. Isn't that being hypocritical?

Aaron

Expressing my own observations and understanding of the Universe in no way limits anyone's Freedom of Choice. On the contrary - choices are expanded when alternative views are admitted for consideration.

In the Freedom of Choice book there is no statement that says that anything is false or wrong. Please read it again. I make an objective observation by reporting a fact - and then ask reader a question, provoking him/her to develop his/her OWN opinion. Aren't you criticizing your OWN answers to these questions?
